Schylar Davis & The Vertigo

Boise blues-rock band, The Vertigo, is the primary project of front woman Schylar Davis, a singer/songwriter hailing from Baltimore and now calling Boise home. The band also features British import Jamie Brown, who joined the group at the beginning of the year. His dynamic musicality on lead guitar, keys, and vocals compliments Schylar’s powerful bluesy style wonderfully, creating a sound that is unique and engaging. Featuring the expert touch of Tony “The Dude” Songer on drums, the band has been developing original sogs along with an eclectic repertiore of cover tunes spanning decades and genres. This dynamic group is capable of playing to a wide range of audiences in a wide range of venues, large or small. The trio are currently focusing on developing more of their original tunes while working to become a staple in Boise’s local live music scene.

Sef Idle

For nearly 20 years, Sef has focused most of his musical efforts as a lead singer, guitarist and song-writer for bands such as Two Spare Months, Strong Point, uniSEF, and currently, the Boise based, False Idle.

In 2008, Sef took a quick stab at solo writing when he recorded a song called “Get Back Up” under the name of Just Plain Sef. The song was never officially released in 2008, but it eventually saw daylight when, thanks to Thumper Punk Records, it was released as part of the uniSEF discography in 2012. Ever since recording Get Back Up, Sef has toyed with the idea of putting in the time to record a solo project, but was just never able to find the time to do it. As his band, False Idle, took some much needed time off in the winter of 2013-14, that journey began. This is the result…

Shabby Dragons

What happens when a compulsive eater, a raging nymphomaniac and a functioning alcoholic collide? Dragons are born! Shabby Dragons, to be exact. We had a lot of trouble coming up with bands we are like for our profile, because really, we are a mish-mash of all of our various influences, our personalities, and the things we carry with us. This veritable witch’s brew makes for a very unique brand of music. What we have in common, however, is our love for what we create together. Somehow, out of the chaos of our musical differences and similarities, comes something real, heartfelt, and fundamentally magical, even if it is a bit shabby.

Shakin’ not Stirred

A Boise-based acoustic Americana band that delivers a tasty concoction of original folk, swing, jazz, and soul-full music, with the occasional rearranged cover for a fresh and unique sound. Michelle Coleman, Daniel Reed and Dominique Tardif provide three-part vocal harmonies and along with Andy Pendley support the songs with an assortment of guitars, mandolin and bass. Some liken Shakin’ not Stirred to a home-grown cross between Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks and the Wailin’ Jennies. On stage, the group is known for their contagious good humor and energetic performances. After playing the music scene in Idaho for the past four years, the band confesses that on more than one occasion they’ve been approached by youthful fans who enthusiastically offer… “I was at your last concert…and my mother LOVES your band!” But actually, any age will enjoy this well “seasoned” group of musicians who will be releasing their second CD, In The Wood, on Friday, November 11 at the Linen Building in Boise. Shakin’ Not Stirred has shared the stage with Carrie Rodriguez, David Grisman, Bearfoot as well as many other musicians.

Sorry Isn’t Over

I started Sorry Isn’t Over as a means of getting though a lot of crap that was going on in my life.
It was nice to be able to write music that I could play and sing, and hopefully touch the hearts of everyone out there listening.
I write a lot of what I feel. Sometimes it can be extremely raw, and sometimes it is Sugar-Coated. My songs generally deal with ”Love.” And that’s how I like it.

I’m no good at these ”Bio” things. So. Yeah. :)

Spencer Batt / Soul Serene

Born and raised on a hop farm in the Snake River Valley, Spencer Batt has grown into a man connected to the Idaho land. He taught himself how to play guitar during his teenage years and has been writing hundreds of songs since (most of which have yet to be heard). His lyrics speak to the ups and downs of life, the issues in society, the human desire to find meaning, and the greatest of all – love and happiness. The sound he finds echos the retro soul and vinyl sounds of greats such as Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Spencer’s inspirations in life are abundant, but those that matter most are rooted in his family’s background. He comes from a large family of hard working and passionate individuals. He shares the music with his father, Reed, who is soulful on the keys. Reed’s impact on Spencer’s drive to create, share, and enjoy music as a vessel of communication to all people is something to be honored. Spencer hopes to spend his life sharing the gift of music with as many people as he can reach.
