Jumping Sharks
Jumping Sharks is a psychedelic-indie band based in Boise, Idaho. Since forming in 2010, we’ve played over 50 shows in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and California. These gigs have included opening for touring acts Mike Watt, Starfucker, and the BellRays. A recent review described our sound as ”dark dusty music . . . likely to make the devil jump up on a hickory stump.”
We will be hitting the road with ReVoLtReVoLt in March this year for a nation-wide tour of 26 shows in ten states, supporting them and their new album release.
Our full-length album, Dreams of the Dying, Light of the Living, was produced, recorded, and mixed by Faust member Steven Wray Lobdell (who recorded Built to Spill’s You In Reverse, as well as some of Modest Mouse’s latest album, We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank) at Audible Alchemy in Portland, Oregon.
Influences include classic rock ranging from the Beatles and Pink Floyd to the Grateful Dead—as well as 90’s indie acts Ween, Flaming Lips, and Super Furry Animals—with some Tex Ritter, Woody Guthrie, and Miles Davis thrown in for good measure.
