MacKayla Hunter
MacKayla Hunter is an artist well on the rise to not only musical fame but offering a helping hand to humanity! MacKayla has made a huge splash in the country industry since her album release in December, opening for artists such as Billy Dean, Terri Clark, Steve Holy, Danielle Peck, Ira Dean, and Jeff Bates. In December she will be performing with Josh Thompson and Lee Brice, not to mention headlining her own venues.
Hey I’m MacKayla – I’m 16 years old, a Junior in high school, and I live in Nampa, Idaho. I have a big family and am very family oriented. I am probably BSU’s (Boise State University’s) biggest fan! I collect records, old ones and new ones. My nickname from the time I was born has been KK. My two role models are my mom and dad, and I feel so blessed to have parents like them. God is my number one priority, and He is my light in this crazy world. And last but not least, I love music.
I believe that music has a way to the heart. For the last three years, writing has been my passion, singing has been my love, and music has been my way of life. I have never had a guitar or voice lesson in my life, but it hasn’t stopped me from doing what I loved. I want to inspire people with my music.
James Dean said, “Dream as if you’ll live forever, and live as if you’ll die today.” This quote is how I will live my life. At 16 years, I know that I don’t have a whole lot of life experience, but I like to think that when I am older I will be able to look back and smile at what I’ve done.
